Community Cafe for the homeless and food insecure.

Homeless people not having a warm meal and children struggling with food insecurity within my community were my inspirations in creating The Community Cafe.
It was started at Redeemer Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL. I came up with an idea of how to help the homeless community and created a proposal that was given to the Leaders of my Church. It was approved and started in Sept. 2016.
When the Cafe first opened we would serve 40 to 60 people each week. Currently we serve between 150 to 170 people in which I am constantly seeing new faces each week. Since we started, the project has benefited over 300 people from my community.
Coordinating how much food to serve is sometimes a problem. Every once in a while we run out of food and other times we make to much. We have learned how to overcome these problems by having extra food that is easily cooked. Also, providing extra food to people when we cook to much.
