Clean Shores, Green Future
Beaches are not only natural treasures and tourist attractions but also vital ecosystems that support marine life. Unfortunately, increasing pollution from plastic waste and other debris has severely affected the coastal environment, harming aquatic creatures and spoiling the natural charm of our shores. As Scouts, it is our duty to serve the community and protect our environment. The commitment to the Scout motto makes us take action whenever our surroundings need care and attention.
The project begins with mobilizing volunteers and coordinating with local groups. Teams are briefed on safety, waste segregation, and data collection. Participants use gloves & bags to collect litter, focusing on removing plastics, fishing gear, and other hazardous waste. Collected waste is sorted for recycling or proper disposal, while data is gathered to monitor the types and volumes of trash collected, supporting future planning and awareness drives.
Participants gain a deeper understanding of marine pollution sources and their environmental impact, developing practical skills in teamwork, project management, and waste management.
