BSP-PNHS Clean-up Drive
Everyone in the community deserves to have a cleaner environment where everyone can interact freely. The school vicinity has been a great part of the students learning environment, thus needs to be maintained and cleaned at all times.
Scouts are encouraged to clean the vicinity of the school. During their backyard camping, one part of their module is the discussion of hazards around the school, and how to deal with them. They are given 1 week to plan an activity that will deal with the problem using the solutions they come up based on the discussions. They conducted a clean-up drive around the community, at the same time talking to residents about the hazards, how to avoid and how to maintain cleanliness around the community.
The whole community benefited from the project. Adults and the young population of the community were enlightened and started to act on their own, based on the initiatives of the scouts during their talk and clean-up drive.
Change always starts within ourselves. Scouts helped the residents of the community to dig deep what’s good within them. These initiatives will push through if they are always reminded of the benefits of the project.
