For a better Bhutan and Earth, Cleaning Campaign !
Paro is the dzongkhag having the international airport of Bhutan which receive all the tourists. Paro being the first place that is visited by the tourist when they come to Bhutan. As first impression is the last impression, Paro is a important location for the tourist for their impression about Bhutan. Yet Paro district is struggling with the waste problem causes the district to lose it's beauty. This is the main factor that lead me and my team to come up with the three day cleaning campaign.
Me and my team cleaned five main location of Paro which includes Kichu and Dungtse temple, road between Paro town and Wochu and river bank areas of the Jangwa Ney and the famous picnic spot at Uma. We were mainly focused on the area that was littered and neglected by people which can be seen easily leading the district to lose it's beauty.
The cleaning campaign project will benefit over 6000 residents of Paro as well as the country itself as the places we cleaned will be able to give the international tourist a better impression about Bhutan. Me and my team were able to collect more than 80 sacks of waste in three days which were disposed improperly all over the place by the people. We cleared the blockage of the drains along the road side resulting in better flow of the water.
The project has motivated me, my team, and the people observing us to be mindful of our own waste and to dispose it properly.
The project has also motivated us to conduct more similar and bigger project which will benefit Paro and the country. And the hard work of my team was able to inspire the youths to participate in such projects which will lead to a better Bhutan and a better World!
