The Beach Cleanup: A Path to a Blue Ocean

In a joint effort, the Daffodil International University Air Rover Scout Group and the BAF Shaheen College Chittagong Air Rover Scout Group organized the "Patenga Sea Beach Cleaning & Awareness Campaign." The event, which took place at Patenga Beach, Chittagong, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, was conducted under the leadership of Mrs. Farhana Rahman.

At Patenga Sea Beach, we found a lot of trash, we collected around 30 Kg. To make the cleanup more fun, we organized a competition for all the Rover Scout teams to see who could collect the most garbage and plastic. Everyone, including the Rover Scouts and Scouters, gathered at Sunset Beach. We handed out gloves and bin bags, and everyone walked the beach, collecting trash. At the end of the route, the filled bags were dropped off at a specific point, and the competition was over.

A clean coast and beach create a better environment for our health and the planet. Improving water sanitation significantly impacts communities. Patenga is a well-known tourist spot vital to our region's geological diversity. To preserve its beauty, we must keep the beach clean. Our motto is simple: "Don't throw garbage anywhere; dispose of it in designated places."
