2nd Edition of the Basic Leaders Training Organized by The Gambia Scout Association December 27, 2024 – January 3, 2025 TGSA successfully held the 2nd Edition of the Basic Leaders Training at Jabang Basic Cycle School for District Executives, bringing together enthusiastic young leaders from various regions across the country. Over seven days of intensive training, participants were immersed in a program designed to strengthen their leadership capabilities and enhance their scouting knowledge. The event saw the participation of 50 young leaders, supported by a dedicated team of National Trainers and National Executive members. Together, they ensured the program's smooth execution, benefiting a total of 60 individuals, including indirect beneficiaries. The training was made possible by the unparalleled commitment of trained volunteers of the 1st Badge, whose expertise and dedication significantly contributed to its success. The program provided a comprehensive and practical learning experience, combining foundational and advanced skills essential for effective scouting leadership like knots and lashes for practical outdoor applications, first aid techniques to ensure safety in emergencies, outdoor navigation skills for effective troop guidance in unfamiliar terrain. The training equipped aspiring Scout leaders with the tools and confidence needed to inspire and guide the next generation of scouts. By combining practical skills with leadership principles, The Gambia Scout Association delivered a holistic training experience, empowering both new and experienced leaders to create meaningful and impactful scouting programs.
