Teaching through cultural dances

What inspired you to take up the project?

I was inspired to start this project because I believe our cultural dances are an important part of our identity, and teaching them to the younger generation helps keep our traditions alive.

What are the learnings you got from implementing this project and how would you make it better?

Through this project, I learned the value of teamwork, the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and how sharing skills can strengthen community bonds.

Where was your project implemented and how did you execute it?

I planned the project to preserve and promote traditional cultural dances among youth. With guidance from local elders, I learned authentic steps and gathered costumes, music, and a venue. Scouts and community members joined training sessions where I taught the dance steps and their cultural significance. The project ended with a community performance, supporting SDG 4, SDG 11, and SDG 17 by sharing knowledge, preserving heritage, and working together.
