In a world being burdened by plastic pollution my scout friends decided to take the matters into our hands... Our leaders organized a Workshop on the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge. We were planning to advocate the negative effects of plastic and alternatives we can use instead of plastic. On 22nd of February 2024 we went to the Browns beach Negombo to start our project to play our part in the global pursuit of making the world less polluted. First we began with brainstorming about the negative effects of plastic and polythene towards the environment. Moreover we discussed the alternatives to use instead of polythene. Then we were assigned to clean the beach by collecting the plastic waste that was disposed on the beach. It was really sad to see loads of plastic waste being disposed irresponsibly. Next we made a hand craft by using the plastic pieces we collected. We did it successfully as well! So that's all I got... I request to the person who is reading this to play you part in this global pursuit of making the world less polluted. Together, we can make a difference—one plastic-free choice at a time.
