Innovate, Plan, Reflect: Empowering Young Minds for a Better Future
Aiming to empower, aiming to serve— 13 Senior Scouts from Holy Cross College participated in the series of interactive and reflective activities that was conducted inside their institution under the supervision of their adult leaders. The main focuses of the activities were to improve the scouts creativity, critical thinking, and self-awareness that would be able to help them to become more aware of the problems in our community.
Starting strong, the Scouts got involved in the activity, “Designing the Future” where they presented their innovative ideas that will improve our community and environment. Followed by the “Community Project Planning” that tested the Scouts teamwork and practicality as they dealt with real-life community issues. For their last activity, they did the “Reflection Sticky Wall” where they did a self-assessment and gave feedback about the activities.
All of the stages truly challenged the Scouts to go beyond the reality, exceed their own limits, and see the lacking parts between the spaces. These activities made them become more— more attentive, more cooperative, and more creative.
“The activities made me realize that small ideas can lead to big changes when you plan and work together.” -Frinz
At the end of their activities where it ended successfully, the Scouts may hopefully find their new beginning as empowered young leaders who are now ready to empower others while shaping a better and brighter future ahead of them.
