To mark National Youth Day 2024, Rover Scouts from Mymensingh joined a cleanup drive at Akua Canal — a polluted waterway harming both nature and the community. As Scouts, we felt responsible to act for clean water and a healthier environment, supporting SDG 6 (Clean Water) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). We started early with gloves, bags, and tools. After a quick survey, we formed teams to collect, sort, and dispose of waste. We partnered with the local administration and Mymensingh Foundation, and also spoke with locals to raise awareness. The cleanup was done within hours through teamwork and dedication. This initiative reduced pollution, improved public health, raised community awareness, and empowered youth to take real action. It proved that small efforts can lead to meaningful change.
