Hand in hand against Typhoid
Driven by the commitment to achieve SDG 3 (Good Health), our primary goal was to protect the local youth (aged 8-15) from the burden of Typhoid.
As Senhati Scouts, we volunteered in the local immunization drive to ensure public health and transformed the Scouting principle of 'helping others' into a tangible, life-saving action, thereby upholding our duty of service."
The scope of the Senhati Govt Secondary School Scout group's' involvement was strictly limited to volunteer assistance. The project explicitly excluded the procurement, funding, cold chain management, and transportation of the vaccines, which were the sole responsibility of the Upazila Health Complex. Furthermore, our Scouts did not administer the direct vaccination to the children, nor was any post-vaccination medical treatment or follow-up included within the project's mandate.
Our participation as Senhati Scouts highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination (Health Complex/School) and provided essential, hands-on experience in effective crowd management, public health awareness, and real-world application of service and responsibility (SDG 3)."
