"Druk EcoGuardians: Protecting Our Land and Water"

We were motivated to participate in this cleaning campaign to refresh our minds and reduce the stress of written examinations after the midterm break. The school organized this activity to help us relax, enjoy time outdoors, and return to our studies with renewed energy and a positive mindset. At the same time, we took the opportunity to serve our community by collecting litter and cleaning our school surroundings, nearby areas, and water sources. Through this initiative, we learned the importance of teamwork, environmental responsibility, and community service while contributing to a cleaner, greener, and healthier Druk.

For two days after the midterm break, I helped coordinate our school’s cleaning campaign alongside our Scout Leader and class teacher, with students from Classes 4 to 10 actively participating. We collected litter along the Semtokha–Trashigang Highway in Lingmethang and around the vegetable markets, cut grass around the chorten, and cleaned Pangsibi, our school’s main water source. Through this initiative, we contributed to keeping our community clean, protecting our water source, and promoting environmental awareness. The experience also strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and coordination skills while teaching me the importance of taking responsibility for maintaining a clean and green environment.

Through this two-day cleaning campaign, I learned the importance of teamwork, leadership, and environmental responsibility. Helping coordinate the activities taught me how to work effectively with students from Classes 4 to 10, encourage cooperation, and contribute to a common goal. I also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of keeping our roads, markets, and school water sources clean to protect public health and the environment. This meaningful experience inspired me to take greater responsibility for environmental conservation and continue contributing to a cleaner, greener, and healthier Druk.
