SCOUT FOOD FOR LIFE ETHIOPIA

As part of the Food for Life Project, a joint Monitoring and Evaluation visit was conducted in collaboration with the WSB Africa Region Office to assess progress, strengthen learning, and reinforce accountability.

The visit began in Addis Ababa, at the Akaki Youth Centre, where the team engaged with two community gardens. These initiatives, led by Scouts alongside community members, are actively promoting food security, improved nutrition, and sustainable agricultural practices at the local level.

The mission continued to Dire Dawa in eastern Ethiopia, where two school gardens are empowering young people with practical life skills, environmental stewardship, and hands-on experience in sustainable food production. Through these gardens, Scouts are learning by doing—connecting agriculture, nutrition, and environmental responsibility.

Overall, the visit strengthened shared learning, reinforced accountability, and reaffirmed a collective commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to zero hunger, quality education, and climate action.
