Waste Management Awareness Campaign
To raise awareness among students and villagers about proper waste management, waste segregation, and responsible disposal of wet, dry, and e-waste. I was motivated to promote cleanliness, reduce plastic pollution, and protect wildlife and the environment through collective community participation.
Scouts and Guides organised a waste management awareness programme at Government Senior Secondary School, 13 SD. Students participated in chart competitions, learned about e-waste disposal through LED presentations, and were encouraged to segregate wet and dry waste. A forest model demonstrated the harmful effects of plastic pollution on wildlife. The programme concluded with Shramdaan and cleaning of the school premises.
We learned the importance of proper waste segregation, responsible e-waste disposal, and reducing plastic pollution. The activity strengthened our teamwork and environmental awareness while highlighting the need to protect wildlife, maintain cleanliness, and promote sustainable waste management practices.
