Waingunga Cub Pack Clean Sweep
Encouraging children to participate in litter clean-ups fosters a sense of responsibility and stewardship for the environment.
By instilling these values early, we empower future generations to protect and preserve our planet, promoting a cleaner,
healthier community for all.
Pack Scouter Michaela De Jager and her team encouraged the Pack and their families to attend the litter clean-ups. They provided waste bags and gloves, and encouraged volunteers to also bring along their own, as well as any brooms or rakes they may have available. As a Group, they then walked to the nearby park/field and picked up any litter lying around. Afterwards, they headed back to their hall to enjoy some refreshments.
The importance of community involvement - Collaboration is key to making a positive impact. The impact of small actions - Every piece of trash removed makes a difference. Responsibility and ownership - Taking care of public spaces is everyone's responsibility. Environmental awareness - Understanding the effects of litter on ecosystems and wildlife. The value of teamwork - Working together towards a common goal.
