Uniting Care’s ‘Street 2 Home’ program

Uniting Care’s ‘Street 2 Home’ program

We are helping Uniting Care’s ‘Street 2 Home’ program this Winter for the Messenger of Peace badge. We will be collecting donations of sleeping bags, mats and blankets to help people in our community that are sleeping rough. Collection will be throughout June/July and donations will be given to Uniting Care at our Cub meeting on Tuesday 20th July 2019.

We had guest speakers from The Ballarat Foundation and Uniting Care come along to our Pack meeting to talk to the Cubs about homelessness and our community. We did some activities and created a board of 'Our Helping Hands' where we all wrote things on paper hand cut-outs of ways we can help people in our community, at shool, at home and even at Cubs. We have then been collecting donations of sleeping bags, mats and blankets for their 'Street 2 Home' program. We will be presenting these to Uniting Care on Tuesday 30th July. They will then be distributed to people in need in our community.
