Together for a Cleaner Shoreline

The scouts were motivated by their desire to protect the Maasin shoreline and support a global environmental cause. They wanted to take meaningful action, practice leadership and teamwork, and help create a cleaner, healthier community. Their motivation grew even stronger as they worked alongside Red Cross youth and saw how their efforts could make a real difference.
They executed the project by gathering early at the shoreline, receiving a safety and waste-segregation briefing, and dividing into groups to clean different areas. Equipped with gloves, sacks, tongs, and rakes, they worked with Red Cross volunteers to remove litter and sort recyclables. Despite challenges in materials and transportation, they stayed organized and successfully collected 15 kilograms of waste.
They learned the importance of environmental stewardship, teamwork, and proper waste management. The activity helped them understand how pollution harms marine life and how community cooperation can create positive change. They also discovered that even simple volunteer efforts can inspire others and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable environment. #GreenRising #Scouts #ScoutsforSDG
