CYCLING TO THANDALAM The esteemed Bharathi Scout and Guide Group organized an energetic and enthusiastic cycle hike to Thandalam with the assistant scout master Mr.Srikanth, Rovers Venkatesh, Dinesh, Vijay and 8 other members. On 23.09.2016 at 5.00 am, the energetic team started their hike from Llyods road. Quickly they reached Anna Square and took as many photos as possible. At 6.00 am, their team covered more than 15kms and made a halt there. Since their body needed some break, they held up for tea and coffee at Redhills Bus Stand. At 7.30 am, they reached Puzhal from where they started towards Periyapalayam and they reached there at 9am. The hikers were very much happy and overwhelmed to describe the place as it was Lavish green in color with many palm, mango trees which added to the scenic view. They were totally impressed with the wonderful scenery of Periyapaalayam. At Thumbakkam, they stopped for a while and had Lemon juice, Mangoes and Watermelon. Soon after a break, they started from there and reached Thandalam approximately at 10.00 am. By then they had 7km to reach their destination. Soon after that they got refreshed around 3pm. They prepared Tea, with the available things they purchased on the way from Periyapaalayam. After 10mins they started to notice so many innocent faces whose smiles enlightened their hearts. They spoke to them and educated them on scout activities. Their team played volleyball enthusiastically in the lake water and took many selfies and photos after which they returned to the farm house. The Next day Morning they woke up at 4.30 am and got ready to travel back to Chennai. Outside Thandalam, they had hot tea, coffee and milk as the morning refreshment. They decided to go their group Leader Mr. Balasubramani sir’s house which is located at Madhavaram, bank colony. There they had a good rest and drank juices and had fruits. Approximately, they left from there at 11.30am. They came to MKB Nagar and had lunch heavy meals from Lakshmi hotel. They started to peddle to reach The Hindu Higher Secondary School which is located at Triplicane. Finally all of them reached Triplicane around 3 pm. They covered 130kms in total in just 2 days. The hikers thanked Bharathi Scout & Guide Group for giving them this wonderful opportunity. All the participants felt very proud about being a part of this group.
