Recently I found out about a new initiative by the Giza Sea Scouts which is  the #cleanshores initiative from one of our Scout Group leaders and I was ecstatic to find out about it!

The state of our Shores and the environmental problems with plastic have been constantly on my mind especially that the problem has been on my mind constantly especially that the problem has been escalating rapidly day after day, I really wanted to take part and take actual action to help out with this problem.

I wanted to help out in two ways first of all taking actual action in the cleaning itself and help make our Shores cleaner the other part was giving the needed information to our young scouts about proper Handling of plastics and other disposables and how to dispose of them properly and the harm they cause to the environment and to our Shores when disposed of improperly.

So today was our first day I'm really proud to say that we were able to clean up a huge amount of plastic and other harmful items to be disposed of properly starting from the stretch of Shore that is in front of one of our Giza Sea Scouts headquarters and I was also able to give the young scouts a brief about plastic, it's harms to the environment the proper way of handling it and disposing of it, and the dangers of transforming  non-biodegradable waist from one form to another.

At the end of the day I'm really happy with the effort everybody put in and really proud of all our young Scouts and the effort and hard work and dedication they showed and I have already started preparing for the next time :)
