In National Disaster Preparedness and Management Course, on 9th Oct. 2015, a session of Surf Smart was conducted in which 113 participants took part. The session was led by Ms. Ritu Sharma DOC Rajasthan and duly assisted by Mr Pankaj Sharma Rover Leader Himachal. This session included all the necessary information’s and factual data’s about cyber crimes. All the participants were informed about the privacy settings they need to maintain to escape any online hazard and problems. Cyber bulling was also discussed in detail. How to connect, surf safe and aware others was discussed in session. The stages to gain the surf smart badge were told to them. The details of this campaign were discussed. This session was interactive, participants shared the problems they usually face while being online and on social sites. The safer use of whatsapp and Face book was discussed. This session provided them deeper knowledge about being safe at social networks. It also helped them to raise their confidence level. All the participants assured to pass on the knowledge to their friends and other youths. The programme was led by Mr. R.K. Kaushik, Dy. Director
