SG50 International Jamboree - Scouting In Community
During the project, I helped to pick up litter, return trays and utensils to the corresponding stalls, and also asked residents to pledge to return their trays, at a local food centre. It was a unique experience and was the first time I went to a food centre for community service. There were a few who did not want to make pledges, however the majority of the people there willingly made pledges. This project has let me feel how it is like to be a cleaner for 7 hours, and it has been an forgettable experience. It has also taught me that we can do our part to make the world a better place, as well as to keep the environment clean, not only for our children, but for our children's children. We do not own the world; we simply borrow it from our children, which is why we should leave the world a better place than it was.
A photo is attached of me picking up litter with tongs.
