Scouts of the World Award - Voluntary Service "Green Hydrogarden Project"

7 rover scouts from Kumpulan Latihan Kelanasiswa Malaysia (KLKM) IIUM Kuantan had running a voluntary service where we chose the aquaponics project/system to grow the plants at our selected school which was the orphans school. We believe that this school is the strategic area to run our project and give some sustainable impact to a community nearby. Project's Details:- Project’ title : “Green Hydrogarden Project” SWA Theme : Development Date : 1 February 2016 – 15 June 2016 Venue : Maahad Tahfiz Muhammadi untuk Anak Yatim dan Fakir Miskin, Jalan Pintasan Bukit Rangin, Kuantan. Targets : The community of Maahad Tahfiz Muhammadi untuk Anak Yatim dan Fakir Miskin and community nearby. Project’s Advisor : En. Maahad Tahfiz Muhammadi untuk Anak Yatim dan Fakir Miskin (MAYAM) 3.The Scout Association of Malaysia 4. Agricultural Department of Kuantan From February till June, we were running our project and had supervised by our Project's Advisor. February: 1. A first meeting 2. A project trial 3. Site visiting 4. Cleaning of the project's site 5. Digging a hole for fish tank 6. Concrete base construction 7. Setting up the shelter 8. Seed cultivation March: 1. Preparation the medium for plants 2. Painting the iron racks 3. Running the piping system April: 1. Setting the roof of the shelter 2. Fish releasing 3. Flower plantation 4. Observing and monitoring of the plants growth May: 1. Fertilizing the plants 2. Evaluation of the plants growth June: 1. Decorating the project site 2. A workshop with Ecocentric Transition's crew regarding gardening and aquaponics system. 3. The Appreciation Ceremony to hand over the project to the school community.
