Tonight our Scouts were giving an intoroduction to Hiking to our Cub Scouts. The location was Huon Will, Wodonga, a nice 5km stroll up the road to the lookout, but the Leaders had other things in mind. All the youth members were given Rubbish bags and Gloves to make it more interesting. Little did all these youth members know that tonight they all worked on service for Messengers of Peace. With "The Rubbish Ute" bringing up the rear of the Group, Leaders, Ventures, Scouts and Cub Scouts took off on their way to start Collecting the rubbish that has been thrown out of cars while going to visit the lookout. From Beer Bottles, Star Pickets, 5 Council Road Signs, 50m of poly pipe and various cans and McDonalds wrappers. All members involved did a great job, considering that this was at night with little light around. 5 Leaders 1 Parent Helper 3 Ventures 16 Scouts 13 Cub Scouts Oh and a few Cows.... An Extra Huge BRAVO to all that took part in this event.
