Schools and Parks, Cleaned with Heart
The Brigada Eskwela initiative aimed to prepare schools and public spaces for the upcoming school year while promoting environmental responsibility. By engaging Scouts in cleaning and restoring learning areas and parks, the project fostered safe, welcoming environments and supported green space preservation through proper waste management. It also empowered youth to take active roles in community care and sustainability.
For two (2) consecutive days, 25 Senior Scouts from Bugo National High School, guided by two adult leaders conducted the Brigada Eskwela where Scouts focused on restoring cleanliness and safety by removing 14 sacks of mudslide debris from the school and collecting 4 kilos of plastic waste from a nearby public plaza. Their hands-on efforts emphasized both environmental responsibility and disaster preparedness.
Through this project, Scouts learned the importance of teamwork and community involvement in creating clean and safe environments. They gained practical experience in waste management and disaster recovery, understanding how their efforts contribute to maintaining green spaces and promoting environmental responsibility. This reinforced their role as active stewards of their community’s health and safety.
