School based Scout Program - Carinity Education & Scouts Queensland

Carinity Education, Southside and The Scout Association of Australia, Scouts Queensland Branch Inc. have formed a partnership to establish and develop a sponsored Scout Group. The Scout program will be included as part of Carinity Education, Southside's Annual Operational Plan. Both parties have agreed to a memorandum of understanding which provides an agreement between The Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch Inc. and Carinity Education, Southside for the purpose of confirming a framework for a cooperative relationship. The Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch Inc. is proud to contribute to the education of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. Carinity Education, Southside aims to remove the barriers to education and to nurture the intellectual, physical, social, emotional and ethical development of young women. Driven by our Christian values, we provide high quality care and services, making a real difference to people in need. Create communities where people are loved, accepted and supported to reach their full potential. Based on mutual respect and shared values, some of the aspects of the memorandum of understanding are as follows; Scouts Queensland Branch Inc. agrees to: • Respect the teachings, policies, objectives, aims and practices of Carinity Education, Southside • Meet objectives by actively promoting and providing support for the achievement of young people through the implementation of the Scout program • Provide year‐round support to the Adult Leaders and volunteers • Provide the Adult Leaders and Volunteers with training and support as necessary to carry out their roles Carinity Education, Southside agrees to: • To commit to the delivery of a non-formal education program in accord with the Scout program • Include the Scout program as part of its Annual Operational Plan, with approval from its governing body • To acknowledge that teamwork is a basic of Scouting, requiring active cooperation with others and respect for their views and values • Show support of the Aim and Principles of the Scout Movement and assist with the overall running of the Group and commit to undertaking relevant ‘Scout’ training for their roles • Provide adequate and safe facilities fit for purpose to deliver the Scout Program and to meet on a regular basis with time and place reserved.
