Rover Scouts Take on Traffic Management
In the face of challenge, our community rises! The Traffic Control Operation – 2024 empowers local youth and volunteers to take charge, transforming our roads and inspiring a wave of civic action. Be a part of this powerful movement for safety and progress!
With approval from our leaders, I'm part of a dedicated team ensuring safety by managing traffic at multiple key locations in Dhaka and Ashulia. Our recent efforts, from August 6 to August 13, 2024, involved a team of 25 participants, each working 6-hour shifts for a total of 6 working days.
During this period, we successfully managed traffic for approximately 1000 beneficiaries daily, significantly contributing to smoother commutes in our focus areas:
- Dhanmondi
- Asad Gate
- Dhanmondi 32
- Shankar
This collective effort resulted in an overall total of 1500 man-hours of dedicated traffic management, directly impacting the daily lives of thousands of city dwellers.
This experience profoundly improved my communication skills and revealed the immense effort involved in traffic control. I now understand the critical need to convince people to obey traffic laws and the challenges of working under pressure in tough weather. It reinforced the value of community service and the power of awareness in enhancing road safety.
