River Tungabhadra Cleanliness Drive

Local festivals in the town of Harihar result in people dumping clothes, plastic items and other non biodegradable items on the dry river banks. All these items get swept away during the monsoons to the sea leading to marine pollution. It also harms the breeding of fish, the dependent birds and communities down the river. The Amrutha Varshini Scouts and Guides ( Kumarapatnam, Ranebennur Taluq, Haveri District, Karnataka - 581123) troop took up the task of cleaning the banks of River Tungabhadra near the town of Harihar. The Scouts and Guides participated enthusiastically and realized the impact their selfless service was having on the community. They worked with focus for an hour collecting discarded rubbish and putting them together in dumps.
