Radically ready to recycle
This project was led by Leah Klemm a German Volunteer. 1st Rosebank Cubs picked up litter around Rondebosch Common, to help the flora start growing again.
The project showed the Cubs that it is wrong to throw rubbish on the ground. They learned to separate their rubbish so that it can be recycled. That will help nature a lot! The visitors at Rondebosch Common can live there now in a clean environment and by seeing a clean field they won’t throw their rubbish in the nature but put it in the bin.
The group learned how to separate their rubbish at home, to put their natural rubbish in a compost and to separate plastic and paper. The participants also learned how the rubbish gets recycled and reused when they visited the OASIS, a Recycling Company.
The Cubs will also tell their parents to bring their rubbish to a recycling company because they were amazed by this place. For the longer term the group will try and visit the Rondebosch Common, to see if the place has been maintained.
