The radiance of education, the smile of a child
As a Rover Scout, I always try to bring about positive change in society. One day, I noticed that many children in our area were not going to school, and some who were, were lagging behind in their studies. Then I thought, if I could spend some time with them, maybe their lives would change a little.
First, I consult with my local primary school teacher. Then, with the help of teacher Mahadaya, I gather students from the village who are backward or do not go to school. Three days a week, I help them with their studies—along with telling stories and creating a learning environment through games. Not only studies, I encourage them to go to school regularly and also explain the importance of education to their parents.
This project has taught me that even a small initiative can bring about a big change. Children have also become confident by studying with joy. Parents have started to understand the importance of education. My own leadership skills, patience, and experience in working in a team have also increased. Most importantly, I have realized that education is the real strength of a society and I have been able to play a role in it.
