Nouvelle chance Nouvel espoir

According to recent studies , Sfax was among the first two districts having a high rate of children dropping out of schools before the legal age of 16 . Worse more are leaving primary schools before the age of 13 . These children are then obliged to work ito support their familes. Like so many other countries, child labour is a real threat to the psychological and pgysical development of children so it was an emergency for us as scouts to intervene and work with the governmental institutions
We created scout cells at scools to identify pupils who are at risk of dropping out and find out what are the reasons behind this . Then through specialized scout center, these children are given educational or economical support to enable them overome their education hardships . Even needy mothers are trained to learn news skills in activities that generate new sorces of income to garantee better economic conditions which will help children school retention .
1/ 10000 Citizens are more aware of the dangers of child labor 2 / 2000 Children suffering from bad school results and obliged to drop out of school are informed about other educational opportunities and trainings to opt for instead of joing a job that can harm their development . 3/ 100 school children are trazined on news skills that hep them get extra incomes without resorting to leaving schools and work longer hours
Dropping out of schools and getting a job at a young age seems to be the easiest solution for needy children to overcome their economic difficulties but the earned amounts are far from achieving this goal. Working children are abused and obliged to perform woks that threaten their development. providing them with other alternatives and giving them better understanding of professional training was a solution to retain them at schools or professional training centers to protect them from abuse
