New Zealand Scouts Clean Up Beach
As part of Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week a small but dedicated group braved the weather last Sunday to help clean up Christchurch’s beaches and river mouth. Around 35 Keas, Cubs, Scouts, Rovers, leaders and parents with help from the Christchurch City Council Coastal Rangers collected over 40 bags of rubbish filling a large trailer. The Coastal Rangers loved having such a hard-working group of people helping them out and members of the public were very impressed seeing Scouts out in the community doing their part. A huge BRAVO to those who attended from Holmes Park Scout Group, Redwood Scout Group, Bishopdale-Harewood Scout Group, Avon-Cossgrove Rovers and Deans Rovers, as well as Rodney and Peter from the Christchurch City Council who are keen to help us run the event again next year.
