沙田西區的3個童軍旅團（ STW3th ,STW20th ,NTE1110th ），聯合推行一個長期的服務計劃，童軍成員及領袖與瀝源邨愛群服務中心合作，定期到中心與長者活動，送上關愛，陪伴和歡樂，亦會安排家居探訪。 愛群服務署為此派出專業社工及復康護士培訓童軍，讓青少年認識長者身心狀態、認識腦退化及認知障礙癥患者的特性、如何跟他們溝通的技巧， 同時亦會教授如何策劃長者活動，帶領時要留意的技巧等等。 服務以配合中心需要為主，讓童軍成員通過長期服務長者，成為朋友，進一步明白長者的需要及了解社會上弱勢社群的問題。 通過雙向互動，讓童軍實踐承諾，服務社會，同時對他們自身的成長，亦有所裨益。 3 Hong Kong scout groups from Shatin West District will join together to provide regular visits and service to an elderly Center in Wo Che Estate. It starts with a training workshop to let scouts understand the behavior of dementia elderly, and know more on what and how scouts can help them. Thanks to professional social workers from Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service to provide necessary training and co-ordination. It is a great chance for scouts to learn how to care others and the society.
