Move Humanity Campaign- Bhutan
SDG Club organised 'Move Humanity Campaign' in Samtse College of Education supported by UN SDSN and Move Human Act Foundation. Move Humanity aims to close SDG financing gap by mobilizing private funding, in fact 2208 billionaires to contribute 1% of their total net worth to SDGs.
Event started with Keynote speech by officiating president of Samtse College of Education to the participants and volunteers. We were also accompanied by Dean of Student Affairs, faculty members, teachers and students of Samtse H.S.S, 60 Student Scout leaders from all parts of Bhutan, various Club members and trainees of Samtse College.
With presentation on Move humanity and 17 Sustainable Development Goals, followed by entertainments programs and tea breaks, participants and volunteers headed for cleaning campaign. Besides Move Humanity campaign, cleaning campaign was also part of preparation for 111th National Day celebration in Samtse.
In the evening, we were glad to receive President as Chief guest for our 'Night street show', accompanied by deans and faculty members. With majestic performance and unwavering support from the audience, event concluded successfully.
As a result of Move Humanity Campaign, we started with project 'Give Away' where by we would be donating 'T-shirts' we would receive to the charity based organizations. And today coinciding with International Day for Children with Disabilities, we have sent first set of T-shirts and brochure to Draktsho Vocational Training centre for special children and youth needs at Tashigang.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to UN SDSN, Human Act Foundation, SDSN youth south Asia, Samtse college of Education, all participants and volunteers.
After all event was of great success.
