Microfinancing DCSG Cubs, 1st Singapore BSO
British Scouting Overseas, 1st Singapore, DCSG Cubs - Last week to continue with our Community Impact badge, Kiva Micro Financing visited our sessions. Kiva envision a financially inclusive world where all people hold the power to improve their lives. We asked the Cubs which who they would choose to help. They had lots of fabulous ideas! We set each Cub a Personal Challenge to raise SG$25 each in the next 2 weeks. This can be in any way they like - through a sponsorship, a bake sale, a lemonade stand, a toy sale, earning money from chores or any other way each Cub decides, BUT the money must be earned. Cub will then email us photos of them achieving their challenge.
In 2 weeks time we will collect all of the money the Cubs have raised and set up a DCSG Cubs Kiva account. The Cubs will then decide as a group which projects they would like to fund. This will count towards their Personal Challenge Award and also their Community Impact badge. At home, we encourage parents to talk to their Cubs about how they would like to raise these funds and help them to realise this goal. LET'S #MAKEITHAPPEN
