Help the poor
It was a project undertaken by the Rover section with collaboration of senior scouts of 2nd Explorers' troop ( The Bharat Scouts and Guides). The project had the motive to donate poor people and the weaker section of the society clothes before the winters arrive in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Clothes were collected from everyone including neighbours, friends, family . The clothes collected were then sorted in different age groups along with gender. The collection drive was undertaken by not only Scouts, Guides or Rover's but also family members, friends of the Scouts. The collection was overviewed by Scouts Guides or Rover's . This was eventual step taken by 2nd Explorers Group to help people (except scouts ) to join in the upholding and help of the poor people . After the collection was over the collected material was sorted and packed . On the day of donation a small caravan was booked and the Rover's along with senior Scouts of 2nd Explorers Troop went to different parts in Kolkata where poverty has reached it's height to donate the clothes . The people were overwhelmed to see people thinking for them . This induced a feeling of loved in them . The Scouts and Rovers of 2nd Explorers troop acted as a pathway or corridor between the people of Kolkata which included all the sections of the society . According to me it was a perfect project to uphold the 3rd law of Scouting " A Scout is friend to all and a brother to every other Scout ".
I request all the Scouts to undertake these type of project for the well being of poor people .
