Gotta Camp 2018, Tamorot - Morocco
The Moroccan Hassania Association of Scouting Tangier Aboughaz, organizes the international camp of Gouta as part of its summer program of the year of 2018 from 27 July to 5 August 2018 in the Tamrout village of the rural community of Bab Berd, Chefchaouen. This camp will be organized in the form voluntary convoys to schools in the villages of the centralized area of Tamrout with the aim of painting and maintaining school spaces as well as organizing educational workshops for the benefit of 212 children from the region. Additionally, 50 young people from different countries will also be participating.
This camp comes in the framework of the educational objectives put forward by the Scout Movement. It is also organized to implement the content of the educational project of the Moroccan Hassania Association of Scouting, and the national strategy for ending the isolation of remote areas and achieve sustainable development for vulnerable groups and combat school dropout.
Since the inception of the Scout Movement, it has been contributing to promoting awareness, training young people and directing their energies to serve and develop the community. Additionally, the global feature of the movement contributed to widening communication horizons between the youth of the world as well as promoting tolerance and peace. The Movement has also supported them to integrate in their active participation in the voluntary social work and work for humanitarian issues. The aim of the camp is to increase the abilities of young people and train them to observe social problems in their countries and encourage them to volunteer to participate in their resolution and use their talents, knowledge and abilities to serve and develop their communities based on the humanitarian principles that go beyond local borders, social and gender differences, as well as political subdivisions.
The Moroccan Hassania Association of Scouting Tanger Aboughaz organizes this camp in order to develop mental, intellectual, spiritual, physical and social abilities of young people for the purpose of helping them in becoming active citizens in their local, national and international communities. The camp also aims at promoting cultural openness, dialogue among civilizations, coexistence and rapprochement of cultures.
The objective of this gathering is to create opportunities to build relationships among young people enabling permanent cooperation between them and opening discussion to work on humanitarian issues for a common future vision and cooperate to serve social, cultural and environmental issues.
The gathering revolves around contributing to combat school dropout and encourage schooling in the area of Temarout of the Bab Bered rural community, Chefchaouen. Throughout the camping days, the voluntary convoys, made up of the participating youth, will be painting, decorating and renovating 12 classrooms in 3 sub schools in addition to the centralized area of Temrout. The participating youth will also work to hold educational workshops for the benefit of 212 children of the region. The workshops will be distributed according to the following axes:
