The recent outbreak of the deadly EBOLA virus in our Country is alarming and needs a rapid respond control and preventive measures. It is against this backdrop that the Liberia Scout Association has join the fight against the deadly virus but lack the essential needs to facilitate the campaign to eradicate the deadly EBOLA virus throughout the Country. If empowered, the Liberia Scout Association will use its largest youthful population to combat the virus which has an increasing number of death cases. The Liberia Scout Association, LSA with support from the Scouts of China (TAIWAN) / The General Scouts Association of China / Government of the People’s Republic of China is to launch an Ebola prevention and eradication project that will be implemented across Liberia by the Liberia Scout Association.. The grant is being provided by the Government of China through the Scouts of China (TAIWAN) / The General Scouts Association of China, for implementation of project Activities that is geared toward mobilization of Scouts and Scout leaders for massive community awareness on prevention and eradication of the Ebola Disease Virus from Liberia. The grant is in the sum of ten thousand Five Hundred United States Dollars ($10,500.00), for activities implementation in all of the fifteen counties of Liberia. The project is for the period of three months. Aim and Objectives of the project 1. To provide Education on the cause and effect of the EBOLA Virus 2. To create awareness on preventive measures 3. To Assist with materials to prevent the spread of the virus 4. To eradicate EBOLA through a rapid and vigor us means 5. To promote unity among Liberia n who fell segregated as a result of the EBOLA outbreak This grant was made possible through the Effort of Mr. Lin, Junq-Tzer - Chairman & Chief Commissioner, Mr. Chang, Wen-Shing - International Director of the Scouts of China (TAIWAN) / The General Scouts Association of China and Mr. Frederic T. Kama-Kama, Regional Director- Africa Region - World Scout Bureau as well as members and officials of the Scouts of China (TAIWAN) / the General Scouts Association of China. In recognition of team work and collaborative effort for the achievement of the Goals and objectives to wipe out the Ebola Disease Virus from Liberia; the Liberia Scout Association is therefore calling on all Scout Organizations, Scouts and Scout leaders to join forces and support the Liberia Scout Association in mobilizing Scouts and Scout leaders to fight against the deadly Ebola Virus . In this open manner, we want to call on the people of the republic of Liberia, the general public to abide by all the preventive measures and listen to health authorities to ensure that the virus is eradicated from our country so that we can once more return to normality.
