Dengue Prevention and Awareness Program
Our team was inspired by a common goal—to build a healthy and safe society—to start the dengue prevention program. We have seen that despite dengue being a preventable disease, its outbreaks threaten the lives of countless people every year. Awareness, proper measures, and effective initiatives are crucial to protect ourselves from it.
A dengue prevention program was implemented in Uttara, Dhaka on 30 September 2024, at the initiative of the 120th Uttara High School and College Scout Group. Under the leadership of Scout Leader Md. Bakhtiar Kutubi and Unit Leader Helena Akhter, leaflets were distributed on various roads and houses in Uttara and dengue larva eradication drugs were sprayed with the help of the City Corporation. The main objective of the program was to increase awareness among people about dengue.
We have learnt many important lessons through this project, raising awareness among people is the most effective step to prevent diseases like dengue. If people get the right information, they can take preventive measures themselves. Big problems can be solved by working together with the local city corporation, residents and us scout members. We have learnt how fruitful teamwork can be.
