Clean Beach, Healthy Nature (Beach Cleaning)

We were deeply concerned by the increasing amount of plastic and solid waste polluting the Kuakata sea beach. This pollution was not only harming the beauty of nature but also affecting marine life and the experience of tourists. As Rover Scouts, we felt it was our responsibility to contribute to environmental protection. This sense of duty and awareness inspired us to initiate the beach cleaning project.

Organized by Bangladesh Scouts, Patuakhali District Rover, Scouts and leaders participated in a beach cleaning campaign at Kuakata Sea Beach. We equipped ourselves with gloves, face masks, and waste collection bags, and cleaned various types of plastic, glass, bottles, food wrappers from the sand and surrounding areas. Approximately 2 kilometers of the beach were cleaned, and with the support of the local administration, the collected waste was sent for recycling.

Through this project, we learned that protecting the environment is not a one time effort, it requires consistent action and public awareness. We also realized that working as a team allows us to accomplish large scale tasks effectively. Moreover, we discovered the power of youth involvement in spreading awareness and making a visible difference in the community.
