Bridging Communities, Building Peace

As part of the Messengers of Peace initiative, we teamed up together to repair a bamboo bridge over a local water canal. This project was more than just repairing a structure—it was about teamwork, unity, and service to the community.
For a long time, the bamboo bridge in front of the local mosque had been in a precarious condition. Together with some scout members from the area, I collected new bamboo and rope. We replaced the broken parts of the bridge with new bamboo and reinforced the weak points with strong anchors and lashings. As a result, hundreds of people in the area can now travel safely and reach the mosque without any problems.
The bamboo bridge symbolizes how peace connects people, just like a bridge connects two sides. Working hand in hand, scouts of different ages learned leadership, cooperation, problem-solving, and sustainable practices. By using natural and eco-friendly resources, we highlighted our commitment to protecting nature while serving society.
