1st Mulati
The Group embarked on a global warming project to assist Hlayiseka day care centre. In the community of Mulati, the community members are cutting trees for fire wood and they are not planted back. They don’t know the impact that this is having on the climate and the community.
The Group held a workshop on the importance of climate change, and why it is important to plant trees, after the workshop more trees were planted.
Children will now have shade from the trees at the day care centre. The group worked together as a team with the ECD staff, everyone enjoyed digging holes. They learned a lot during the process, they know why they have to prone their trees and the importance of removing plastic bags before planting. The group members will do regular visits to the school, to check if the trees are taken good care of.
