Trained to Lead, Ready to Serve

What inspired you to take up the project?

I was inspired by my desire to become a more skilled and confident scout leader. Wood Badge training offers the knowledge, leadership skills and practical experience needed to guide young scouts better. By participating, I hope to strengthen our troop, mentor future leaders, and serve our school and community with greater purpose and commitment.

What are the learnings you got from implementing this project and how would you make it better?

Through Wood Badge, I learned and sharpened essential scouting skills, including leadership, teamwork, communication, planning, camping, first aid, knot tying, and outdoor survival. I also learned how to mentor young scouts, solve problems, and lead by example. Above all, I learned that scouting builds character, discipline, and a lasting spirit of service.

Where was your project implemented and how did you execute it?

I applied for the Wood Badge programme and was selected by the Bhutan Scout Association. After receiving confirmation, I informed my school management and fellow scout leaders, made arrangements for my duties, and registered for the training. I then attended the sessions, completed the assigned activities, and prepared to apply my learning in our scout troop.
