Scout Spiritual Expedition 2026
What inspired you to take up the project?
My motivation to join this wonderful event was to trail through the wonderful landscapes of eastern bhutan with my energetic school mates. Moreover scouts got the opportunity to visit machen lhakhang, shamey lhakhang, Jaiphu and Pongchula phaktshang.
What are the learnings you got from implementing this project and how would you make it better?
From this hike I learned the power of friendship and teamwork not only that we were educated on various lhakhang and land marks which at first, none of us were aware of. We also picked waste from the trail which taught us about ownership and responsibility.
Where was your project implemented and how did you execute it?
Scouts reported by 7am in the morning and troop leaders took attendance. Each troop got on the bus and started the journey enthusiastically. After reaching the Kidheykhar shedra, we got the opportunity to visit the infamous Machen lhakhang of the east and then continued our journey to Phujurlaptsa. Starting from Phujurlaptsa we hiked to shamey lhakhang, then we pushed further to Jaiphu the temple of the deity Dorji Gyeltshen and we reached our final lhakhang of the Pongchula Phaktshang.
