GREENING OUR COMMUNITY ON WORLD EARTH DAY

I spent a fulfilling weekend celebrating World Earth Day on Saturday, 20th April 2024 by volunteering in a clean-up activity organized by the Darren Hart Foundation in collaboration with KEPRO, Clean Up Kenya, PCUL, Red Cross, Weforest, and neighboring CBOs. We cleared an illegal dumpsite near the civil estate and planted trees to deter future dumping activities. Over 150 volunteers joined us, planting 500 trees and collecting 6.5 tons of waste sorting the plastic separately for recycling. Throughout the activity, we engaged the youth and the community sensitizing them about proper waste disposal and recycling. Seeing the community come together to promote proper waste disposal and recycling was inspiring. One step at a time for a better world!
