BSP holds National Scout Youth Forums across the country
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines conducted the 2016 National Scout Youth Forums for Mindanao and Luzon on 22-24 January and 11-13 February 2016 at Tagum City, Davao del Norte and Lingayen, Pangasinan respectively.
The Scout Youth Forum, a primordial part of the Youth Development Program of the Boy Scouts of the Philippine is organized annually to fill in the need and the clamor for youth participation in the decision-making process in the Scout Movement. It is a place for information, training and concrete experience of discussing and acquiring a deeper understanding of various issues. It is also a source of inspiration by providing the contact with new people, fresh ideas, innovative thoughts, different experiences and working methods.
In the Forum, the Regional Scout Representatives to the National Executive Board are elected from among the representatives of the different Scouting regions constituting in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, pursuant to Section 5(e) of Republic Act No. 7278.
On January, Scout Emilio D.S. Aquino II of Zamboanga City Council was elected as the new Regional Scout Representative for Mindanao. Earlier this February, Scout Miguel M. Manipon of Antipolo City Councils was elected as the new Regional Scout Representative for Luzon.
The 2016 National Scout Youth Forum for Visayas is also scheduled to be held on 4-6 March 2016 at Tacloban City.
