  • Cones or markers (optional)
Activity Description

This activity is best done with a group of friends, like your Scout Group.

  • Start with a brief breathing warm-up. You need to stand or sit comfortably in a circle, and then everyone should take a few deep and slow breaths together. All of you should focus on your breath, feeling the air entering and leaving your bodies.

  • Next, set up "Breathing Stations" around the open space. These stations can be marked with cones or simply designated areas. Each station will focus on a specific breathing exercise.

  1. Station 1: Balloon Breaths - Inhale deeply, imagining your belly is a balloon filling up with air. Exhale slowly, releasing the air from the balloon.

  2. Station 2: Flower Breaths - Inhale deeply, pretending you're smelling a beautiful flower. Exhale slowly, as if you're blowing gently on a dandelion.

  3. Station 3: Bubble Breaths - Take a deep breath in and picture your lungs filling up with air. Exhale slowly and steadily, pretending to blow the biggest bubble possible.

  • Next, divide into small groups, with each group starting at a different breathing station. You will have 4-5 minutes to complete and learn each of the breathing exercises.

  • Once you complete the activity, everyone should gather together and discuss whether anyone noticed any changes in how they felt physically or emotionally. Discuss the importance of deep breathing for reducing stress, increasing focus, and promoting overall well-being. Encourage participants to incorporate these breathing techniques into their daily lives whenever they need a moment of relaxation or calmness.

  • Finally, in order to end the activity on a positive note, ask everyone to share one thing they are grateful for after participating in the activity. Emphasize the connection between gratitude and well-being.
