ThirstAid – 2025
Due to intense heatwaves in Dhaka, rickshaw pullers—who spend hours under the scorching sun—are at high risk of dehydration and heatstroke. ThirstAid – 2025 aimed to provide them with a refreshing relief, while also raising awareness about staying hydrated and safe in extreme temperatures.
On 16 April, we bought bottles, prepared fresh juice, and refrigerated them. On 17 April, we began distribution, handing out 10 bottles to rickshaw pullers. The remaining 20 bottles were distributed on 18 April, along with short conversations to encourage hydration and rest during peak sun hours.
We learned how a simple act of kindness can make a visible difference in someone’s day. The gratitude from beneficiaries reminded us that community care doesn’t need to be large-scale to be impactful—it needs to be thoughtful and timely.
