'Stop, Rewind, Play' Campfire Preparation
It was one week before our 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Campfire, themed 'Stop, Rewind, Play'. The 9th Petaling Scout Troop decided to help out the school by building some amazing gadgets with the theme 'Play Ground'. The meaning behind this theme is to let everyone feel the enjoyments they felt when they were young. Day after day, we built a watch tower, slide, swing, monkey bar and others. We also built a tunnel at the entrance of the school to display our decorations and acheivements one day before the campfire. On the day of campfire, we woke up early to prepare the equipment and setting up the chairs and decorations. Unfortunately, It rained on that day, so we are forced to proceed to Plan B and prepare everything again in the hall. It is very depressing that we are unable to start a fire before the campfire begins. When the campfire starts, I was entrusted with the job of 'the gate keeper'. I also helped in setting up a few small fireplaces for smores and last but not least, the flash mob.
I have learned to serve others with my full heart to make them smile and feel happy. Besides that, we must work together as a team in order to accomplish a difficult job.
I have contributed my time and strength in building gadget and in the programmes during the day of campfire. Through hard work, we accomplished the main gadget(Play ground) and additional gadget(Tunnel) but failed to decorate the secondary gadget by making it looks better. But we are still grateful for our acheivementsso that the visitors can have a look at our pioneering project and enjoy the campfire. A campfire is to gather scouts around the state for more interactions among each other. Thus, by organizing this campfire, we can improve our relationship with other scouts and thus avoid fights and bring out peace.
