Sikelela PS is Sparking Curiosity with Literacy
With no school library, Yeboneers aimed to spark learners’ curiosity about books and literacy. They wanted learners to develop an interest in reading and writing while exploring how libraries can support learning.
Learners participated in storytelling, writing exercises, and guidance on locating and using books. Yeboneers encouraged creativity, shared knowledge about libraries, and ensured active participation.
Yeboneers learned the importance of fostering curiosity even without resources. They saw how hands-on experiences and encouragement can build learners’ confidence, engagement, and love for literacy.
