Shining Ground: Uplifting Lives with Rover Spirit

Our main inspiration came from our commitment to the core value of Rover Scouting—service to others. We aimed to create a clean and humane environment for everyone, including the prison visitors and those nearby. We believe that even a small effort can bring comfort and dignity to someone's life. This belief motivated us to take action.

As the Rover Scout Leader, I coordinated with prison authorities to organize a service activity on 19 July. With their support, 10 Rover Scouts from Metropolitan University cleaned the prison’s visitor zones and surrounding areas. Using proper cleaning tools, we aimed to create a hygienic environment and reduce health risks. Throughout the activity, we worked closely with prison staff to ensure safety, discipline, and smooth execution.

This project showed us that even small acts of service can lead to meaningful change. As Rover Scouts, we learned the value of collaboration with institutions like the prison authority. It reminded us that dignity and care are universal rights. Most importantly, we experienced firsthand how planning, teamwork, and compassion can unite us in creating a cleaner, more respectful, and humane environment for everyone—no matter where they are.
